Northern Light: Mix-and-Match Table Lamps from Tambur in Sweden
Lighting is important in Sweden, where six months out of the year bring short, dark days. It’s fitting, then, for Tambur—one of our favorite Stockholm home stores, has turned its attention to a collection of table lamps. Here, lamp bases are handmade by Nicola Fasano, a family-run workshop in Puglia known for its signature splatterware and ceramics, while the lampshades are produced in Eskilstuna, Sweden, using methods dating back to the 1940s. The mix-and-match collection combines the quality of vintage lighting with the character of now.
Above: The fabric for each lampshade is sourced from Swedish company Astrid Textiles.
Above: The collection includes two lamp bases—the Tondo and Alto (shown)—shaped and hand-glazed or painted in Italy.

Above: The shape of the Alto Lamp is intentionally both elegant and stately; the quintessential table lamp. Shown here is the Lamp Base Alto Fiore (€390) with the Lamp Shade Cono Piccolo Amber (€110).
Above: The palette and shape of the Tondo Lamp takes inspiration from old-fashioned candy shops. Shown is the Table Lamp Tondo Piccolo in Mustard and Ivory, a set of the base and shade together, for €360.

Above: Part of the lighting collection from Tambur is a selection of pendant lamps in the same mohair bouclé shades. Shown here is the Pendant Lamp Ampio Amber/White for €230.
