10 Easy Pieces: Editors’ Favorite Linen Sheets

Summer’s coming—the perfect time for linen sheets. Woven from durable flax fibers, linen naturally regulates temperature—cool in summer, warm in winter—making it the ideal transitional weather bedding. While many of us keep at least one set on hand, some have made the full-time switch from percale to linen, reveling in its soft, unfussy, and hypoallergenic appeal. Here are our personal picks.
Above: Margot has long favored Merci for “putting linen bedding on the map and for offering so many great colors,” she says. Shown here is an example of one such shade, the Washed Linen Flat Sheet in Brasilia Green starts at €195, and there are a slew of other colorways available here.
Above: Another Remodelista favorite brand is Bay Area-based Rough Linen. Their Orkney Linen Fitted Sheet gets better with age (many of us have Orkney linen in some area of our homes—bath towels, bed covers, robes). The Linen Sheet starts at $184.
Above: A brand on our radar as of late, Piglet in Bed makes a wide range of linen sheets. Shown here is the Oatmeal Linen Blend Fitted Sheet starting at $139 for the 100 percent linen option.
Above: From Annie: “For a wallet-friendly pick, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Quince.” The Linen Fitted Sheet Set is available in dozens of variations; starting at $94, which includes a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and pillowcases. Both Fan and Francesca have the set from Quince as well and love it.
Above: Francesca’s dream is the Sicilian Linen Top Sheet from Once Milano edged in macramé lace. She would pair it with the Linen Fitted Sheet ($293) in a matching shade.
Above: “On the higher end, we got a pair of Hawkins New York linen sheets as a gift a few years ago. I love them,” says Annie. “They just keep getting better with age—and while we went for a neutral off-white color from practicality, I still catch myself eyeing their richly saturated colorways.” Shown here is the Simple Linen Fitted Sheet starting at $225.
Above: Margot also likes the linen sheets (and duvets) from Two Dawson, a small team headed by Jennifer Hanna in New Hampshire. Shown here is the Linen Fitted Sheet in Chalk starting at $120.
Above: A longtime Remodelista favorite, Coyuchi makes a splurge-worthy Organic Relaxed Linen Sheet Set, $598 and available in a range of colors.
Above: From Alexa: I picked up the Linen Sheet Set in Ivory from Cultiver at ABC Carpet & Home about six or seven years back, and they’re still going strong—and softer than ever. The set starts at $480 and includes two pillowcases.
Above: Akin to Once Milano, Society Limonta are experts in ultra-luxe Italian linen. The Rem Fitted Sheet is made of a froissé linen which is garment dyed in a range of colors; $470 for the queen size sheet.
Above: We also like the Stonewashed Linen Sheet Set from The Citizenry for the range of natural hues; starting at $349.
